Before purchasing pigs for breeding you should study the breed standard so you have a good idea what to look for in individual breeds.
You can find out more about breed standards and much more about the selection of pigs on our Selection and Showing course, March 24th and 26th.
Even if you do not aspire to entering your pigs in a show the weekend will be extremely useful to anyone buying stock or wishing to improve their herd.

Outdoor clothing is a must for the farm sections, wellington boots essential and overalls a strong suggestion. Please bring a change of clothing as you may not wish to travel home smelling like a pig!
