Is your pig ready for slaughter?

Not everyone has access to weigh scales. Although you might have a farming neighbour who will lend you their scales. Remember to regularly feel your pigs to see how firm or flabby they are. Soft, flabby pigs are carrying fat. Fat is needed to baste the meat and add flavour but too much is not acceptable to most people.
