Having successfully completed our 2010 programme of pigkeeping courses for 2010, we are busily elaborating on the 2011 pigkeeping course programme.
Already Carole and I have the Showing weekend planned for 26/27 March.This is a unique opportunity to get a full in site into every aspect of breeding, feeding, preparation and showing your own pigs and will give you the knowledge and confidence to breed select and show in the 2011 season. Where else will you have the opportunity to get a comprehensive over site of what a breeder and judge is looking for in a good pig? This weekends pigkeeping course is guaranteed to make you a better pedigree pig breeder,and is already 50% booked.
Another weekend pigkeeping course we are aiming to put together is ‘from start to finish’ a pigkeeping weekend covering every aspect of breeding pigs, mating, pregnancy, birth, weaning fattening, slaughter and finally butchery. Sausage making, curing cutting, regulations all will be covered .Watch this site for updates!
Also fancy a weeks pigkeeping holiday in the beautiful Lake District? With our self catering lakeland cottages overlooking the outdoor pig paddocks coupled with a week helping John and Carole with all their pigs- pigkeeping bliss? These are offered individually and need to be fully discussed with John as they are very “hands on”.
